Summary of the site: Cygnet Delfryn House offers a 28 bed high dependency rehabilitation service for men with complex needs. The service is designed to provide an environment that promotes mental health recovery by focusing on space, personal privacy and dignity. Individuals may be detained under the Mental Health Act (1983) or informal. Primary diagnoses include, Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective disorder, Bipolar Affective Disorder or Depression. Individuals may also present with complex comorbidities, such as substance misuse, behaviours that challenge and forensic histories. Cygnet Delfryn Lodge offer a 24 bed high dependency inpatient rehabilitation service for men and women with complex needs. The service is designed to provide an environment that promotes mental health recovery by focusing on space, personal privacy and dignity. Individuals may be detained under the Mental Health Act (1983) or informal. Primary diagnoses include, Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective disorder, Bipolar Affective Disorder or Depression. Next door to Cygnet Delfryn Lodge we provide a 6 bed community rehabilitation service, Rhyd Alyn. This service enables women to step-down from the hospital setting but still have some additional support. There is a dedicated clinical team who provide multi-disciplinary input including occupational therapy, psychology, psychiatry, and nursing staff. Essential Criteria:
Degree in Occupational Therapy, HCPC and RCOT membership
Must have Sensory Integration Training/qualification
Valid and up to date HCPC registration
Experience within the specialist client group. (complex trauma, attachment disorders, complex communication issues relating to autism, sensory impairment, learning disabilities/difficulties and associated behaviours that challenge)
Experience of working within an educational setting would be advantageous
Relevant post-qualification experience working as a Therapist, including working with the specific client group in an educational setting
Skills in co-working, liaison and consultation with others, especially with regard to highly complex cases
Specialist knowledge of OT assessments and interventions
Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal, complex, technical and clinically sensitive information to the specific client group, their carers and families and a wide range of professionals outside the service
