Dental Therapist

We are looking to recruit a committed, patient focused Team Leader (Band 7) Therapeutic Radiographer to come and join our friendly team here at the Worcester Oncology Centre (0.8WTE, 4 days per week). 
 
As a team leader you will be responsible for leading a small team of radiographers in a clinical area as well as providing management support for the wider team including rostering duties. 
 
We are based in a new bespoke purpose built building on the Worcestershire Royal Hospital site, with beautiful views of the Malvern Hills and the Cotswolds. Clinical / Technical: 
 
Take responsibility for the correct interpretation, application and delivery of routine and complex Radiotherapy treatment prescriptions using expert clinical skills 
 
Ensure that highly specialist Radiotherapy equipment is used safely and accurately within the tolerances defined for the technique/ procedure and in accordance with manufacturers guidance and departmental protocols. 
 
Undertake verification processes evaluating the accuracy of treatment using portal imaging or CBCT, ensuring that results are systematically analysed to maintain treatment accuracy. 
 
Approve and clinically justify any deviation from department protocols or predetermined tolerances keeping appropriate records and calling on other members of the multidisciplinary team for further advice / action as necessary. 
 
Take responsibility for ensuring that in-vivo dosimetry measurements are undertaken for patients receiving external beam treatment and acting on measurements that are out of tolerance. 
 
Undertake treatment routine and complex localisation procedures using a CT scanner.

Therapeutic Radiographer - Team Leader

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated SLT to join the Band 6 rotation within our highly skilled Speech and Language Therapy service. The post holder will have previous experience providing SLT assessment and treatment of communication and swallowing disorders within an MDT setting. The post holder will carry their own caseload and have an important role in liaising with other specialist services to optimise patient outcomes. The rotations include the following settings: acute medical, neurosciences and neurocardiac (based at St George's Hospital, Tooting), neuro-rehabilitation (at the Wolfson Neuro-rehabilitation Centre at Queen Mary's Hospital, Roehampton) and community (based at St John's Therapy Centre, Clapham Junction), where this role will start. 
 
The post holder will receive regular supervision and support to develop specialist clinical skills. They will be joining a highly supportive and innovative Speech and Language Therapy Department, offering well established CPD opportunities. 
 
The post holder will participate in weekend working as part of the therapies 7 day working policy. 
 
Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for the assessment, management and treatment of their own caseload of patients with communication and/or swallowing impairment as a result of neurological conditions or a range of medical conditions. A significant proportion of these patients will have English as an additional language (EAL).The post holder will be expected to have a sound knowledge of SLT assessment and management of aphasia, cognitive communication difficulties, dysarthria, apraxia, and dysphagia and to have had some exposure to videofluoroscopy.

Main duties of the job

To work as a member of Surrey Downs Health &amp; Care to develop and provide team to the community in order to provide a high standard of holistic assessment, treatment, evaluation and advice to patients with lung conditions in the community, including pulmonary rehabilitation assessments and classes.

<ul>
 <li>To provide effective, efficient and high quality physiotherapy treatment programmes for respiratory patients in the community setting and within the pulmonary rehabilitation service. To lead assessments, group education sessions and exercise classes adjusting exercises according to patients' health status on that day.</li>
 <li>To be able to undertake oxygen therapy assessment and prescription (Long term oxygen therapy and ambulatory oxygen).</li>
 <li>To act as a source of expertise on the management of respiratory patients providing support and advice to other health professionals/agencies both within and external to the Trust</li>
 <li>To communicate with patients in a way that empowers them to make informed choices about the management of their condition and engages them in the planning and delivery of treatment. Taking into account cultural, linguistic, medical, emotional, psychological and physical factors and utilising available resources to facilitate effective communication.</li>
