We are currently looking for a long term Mental Health Occupational Therapist for one of our exclusive private clients based in West Midlands. We are looking for locums available for 30 hours per week between the hours of 8-4 or 9-5. The site is a 28 bedded hospital in that cares for patients who are 18 years and over in an acute setting. The wards consist of; 12 bedded male acute ward 8 bedded male acute ward 8 bedded female acute ward The aim at is to provide a person centred approach and therapeutic environment, which promotes collaborative care planning to optimise treatment goals. Right from the point of admission to our acute services, our aim is to support patients to be discharged safely back into the community where they can continue to progress towards recovery in a less restrictive environment. This will be achieved by: * Thorough assessment of individuals needs throughout admission * Person centred collaborative treatment plans * A range of interventions available from a diverse MDT * Being cared for in the least restrictive environment The acute wards on site provides patients with excellent space and facilities, including en-suite bedrooms and large living spaces furnished with activity equipment such as games consoles. What you’ll be doing as a Occupational Therapist - Functional Assessor
Day-to-day, you’ll carry out assessments to understand how a person's disability or health condition affects their daily life. You’ll listen sensitively to their experiences, ask questions and use your insights to produce a factual report to help the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) determine their eligibility for benefits. It’s important work that has a big impact on real lives, so we’ll make sure you get the time to build a relationship with each customer you speak with.
It’ll be challenging at times, but we’ll support you to manage your caseloads efficiently to deliver the best service to our customers.
