Salary - Competitive plus annual performance bonus and car allowance

Location - Flexible and hybrid working, ideally based Midlands or North of England with regular travel to sites across North and Midlands and more occasional travel to Southern England, including London.

We are seeking a highly proactive and dynamic Senior Communications and Outreach (ECO) Manager to support the business strategy through the implementation of high quality strategic communication, education and outreach approaches for our Local Authority customers.

The Senior ECO Manager will be part of the Strategic oversight team for the UK wide ECO function and will support the Head of ECO UK in developing and implementing overall team strategy, working in close collaboration with all members of the Strategic oversight team. What will you be doing?

The Senior ECO Manager will have line management responsibility for Area ECO Managers working directly with our Local Authority customers to help embed sustainable waste behaviours in communities.

You will support ten or more major contracts across the UK.

Assist in the development of overall team strategy and development approaches and ensure effective delivery through the teams.

Play a significant role in the development and delivery of campaigns, projects and events that run across ECO UK team, for example Orchards, Sustainability Fund, StreetKind and internal conferences.

Support the culture of innovation and improvement within the regional comms team by way of example and influence.

Ensure effective communication and support to external customers through the ECO teams.

Support the implementation of media and content strategy across the BU. Manage and measure good news stories that are identified through the contracts and ensure they are channelled through the appropriate internal and external outlets.

Build effective internal and external relationships to amplify Veolia's wider corporate agenda where relevant.

What are we looking for?

Expertise in shaping strategic communication plans that deliver measurable behavioural outcomes and reflect client ambitions.

Experience in delivering campaigns as well as the ability to build credibility and trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels

Experience of leading teams to build performance

Experience of influencing across a large matrixed environment.

Expertise across the communication mix and experience of content production across multiple formats including digital.

Superb written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking, persuasion, negotiation and conflict management.

Customer and stakeholder management at a senior level.

Expertise in interpreting operational practices, technology and processes to communicate sustainability to a range of audiences and act as 'critical friend' to Area ECO Managers when needed.
