About Camden

Camden is changing on the inside to make life better for everyone. Our residents and communities are at the heart of everything we do. We’re home to the most important conversations happening today and we’re making radical social change a reality, so that nobody gets left behind. As a SEND Policy and Special Projects Officer, you will be at the forefront of shaping policies and creating a positive impact for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Join us in ensuring no one gets left behind as we build a brighter future for all.

How You’ll Be Involved

In this role, you will be responsible for developing innovative and effective policies and leading strategic projects within the SEND & Inclusion Service. Supporting the implementation of Camden’s SEND Strategy will be a core part of your work, as well as ensuring local and national guidance is followed to create meaningful outcomes. You will need to confidently manage and contribute to projects of high complexity or risk, working to enhance service delivery and drive positive change. The ability to gather and analyse data is essential, as this will inform decision-making and help measure success. Building strong relationships with a range of partners, including children, parents, and schools, is critical to achieving high-quality service outcomes.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and will require a DBS.

All About You
We are looking for an experienced individual with a strong background in SEND and a comprehensive understanding of the SEND Code of Practice. You should have demonstrable expertise in developing policies that align with strategic priorities, coupled with excellent written and verbal communication skills. The role requires an ability to engage effectively with colleagues, residents, and external partners. A proven track record in supporting service reviews, redesigns, and contributing to evidence-based policymaking through intelligent data use is key. You will be adept at managing multiple projects and deadlines, balancing priorities, and delivering impactful results.
