"Since joining Surrey CC and the Transition team a year ago, I have supported a number of young people aged 18 - 25 on their way to achieving their goals. Some have wanted to move out their family home and be more independent in a supported living setting. Others are pursuing tertiary qualifications and have needed support with setting up their university accommodation. I have been well supported to develop and progress my skills through all the interesting and variety of opportunities that arise from my role and responsibilities. My confidence in working with young adults has grown significantly. Most importantly, I feel like I am making a genuine contribution in young people's lives."
