Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to join an innovative Community Mental Health Rotation within the West Kent Locality working with Adults?
You will have the opportunity to consolidate your knowledge of occupational therapy and be involved in delivering high-quality, evidence-based, outcome-measured occupational therapy interventions. This post also allows you to develop skills in/as a lead
health care professional, and assessment skills for mental health needs with an occupational therapy focus. The occupational therapy leadership team is committed to an extensive, coordinated CPD program including a robust supervision structure, action learning sets, communities of practice, core competence training and an annual conference. Staff are valued for
their expertise in occupationally focused interventions and specialist group therapy. Opportunities to undertake further development such as enhanced practitioner apprenticeships, and other leadership programs and apprenticeships. Main duties of the job
We are looking to recruit 5 Occupational Therapists for Band 6 posts which will offer 9-month rotations in the following areas: Maidstone Community Mental Health (Mental Health Together Plus) West Kent Crisis Home Treatment Team South West Kent Community Mental Health - older adult specialism (Mental Health Together plus and Memory Assessment Service) Community Rehabilitation Primary Care Mental Health (Mental Health Together) We would like to invite you to attend our open day; this will enable you to see for yourself the excellent work that is carried out by our Community Mental Health Teams. You will get access to our site in Highlands House Tunbridge Wells and meet members
of the team who can talk to you about the services they provide to the local community. Anyone interested will be offered an interview on the day. Facilities will be available on the day for applications to be made. Essential criteria
A recognised Occupational Therapist professional qualification Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) Trained as a Practice Educator with experience of managing learners in the workplace. Desirable criteria
Registered member of the relevant professional body and/or special interest group Evidence of postgraduate development through formal postgraduate courses or experience Experience
Essential criteria
2 or more years post qualification, Experience in clinical practice, holding a range of experience within a variety of settings Manage a defined caseload of service users with occupational needs using evidence-based, service user-centred, health promotion and relapse prevention-orientated principles and practice. Desirable criteria Experience of being involved in service developments or audits Knowledge Essential criteria Knowledge in the application of relevant OT theoretical models, and approaches relevant to service user groups.
