POSITION SUMMARY: Occupational Therapists will provide patient management through all stages of assessment, treatment, consultation and follow-up services to patients. The successful candidate will be familiar working in a team environment and in delegating treatment to appropriately qualified licensed driving instructors As the successful candidate, you are a graduate of an accredited program in Occupational Therapy and are a member in good standing of the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario. You demonstrate excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal, along with a high level of initiative and adaptability to rapidly changing demands. RESPONSIBILITIES: · Conducting driving assessments (in clinic and on-road) · Formulating client goals, recommendations and providing client resources · Accepting auto insurance referrals and completion of OCF18s · Planning, monitoring and modifying treatment plans that include on-road driver training through the use of driving instructors. · Provide vehicle access assessments for drivers and passengers to enable them to enter / exit a vehicle and stow their mobility devices. REQUIREMENTS: · Maturity, confidence and compassion to make and communicate life-altering decisions for clients with respect to community mobility. · Reliable, flexible, creative, self-directed professional, able to work effectively and collaboratively with administrative assistants, driving instructors as well as with families, vendors and case managers · Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills are a must · A positive work attitude and excellent attendance record is essential · Competence in the learning and use of various computer applications including MS Word, Excel (basics), Power Point, Outlook as well as client management software · Advanced knowledge of driving, licensing requirements and vehicles is a benefit · Valid driver’s license and use of a vehicle is required · Registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario is required · A Masters or B.Sc. in Occupational Therapy or equivalent is required. · Experience in the driver rehabilitation and vehicle modification field are preferred. CDR designation is an asset. · Experience working in auto-sector and with HCAI is a strong advantage · BLS & CPR certificate About Us: At SE, we love what we do.
