Job Title: Band 7 Occupational Therapist
Are you an experienced Occupational Therapist looking to make a meaningful impact in the fields of Trauma & Orthopaedics, Vascular Surgery, and General Surgery? Look no further! We are currently seeking a dynamic and dedicated individual to join our team as a Specialty Occupational Therapist.
Key Responsibilities: Provide high-quality Occupational Therapy services within the specialties of Trauma & Orthopaedics, Vascular Surgery, and General Surgery. Manage a diverse caseload of patients with complex trauma, vascular, and surgical conditions. Conduct clinical risk management pre and post-operatively, post-injury, or post-diagnosis to optimize functional ability and ensure safe patient discharge. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care for patients across various surgical specialties. Actively participate in the development, evaluation, and audit of occupational therapy services. Provide leadership, direction, and support for junior staff and students. Assist in the management and development of occupational therapy services, including service reviews and audit. Take responsibility for defined projects aimed at enhancing patient care and service delivery. Provide specialized OT input into education, training, and development programs for staff and students within clinical specialties and the profession.
Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy. Registration with the relevant professional body and compliance with professional standards and codes of ethics. Substantial experience working within Trauma & Orthopaedics, Vascular Surgery, and General Surgery settings. Proven ability to manage complex caseloads and work effectively within multidisciplinary teams. Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to mentor and support junior staff and students. Experience in service development, evaluation, and audit is desirable. A commitment to continuous professional development and staying abreast of current practices and research within the field of Occupational Therapy.
