We have an Amazing Head of Operations – Pharmacy role available in one of the U.Ks leading Community pharmacy provider based in Harlow, Essex.


Salary up to £85,000

Plus, up to 30% bonus on top.


Head of Operations – Pharmacy role:

  • Translating the Pharmacy Services Strategy into a business plan that delivers pharmacy operations in a safe and efficient manner, complying with all regulations and QMS.
  • Leading and driving clinical governance with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC), Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS), and the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), GDPR, and the Caldicott Principles.
  • Leading and driving patient and customer outcomes by applying a process of continuous improvement
  • Leading and driving operational excellence for medicine management with the DU and Prescription Services
  • Leading and driving a department where the performance and potential of people is maximised
  • Proactively managing stakeholder relationships with regulatory bodies, NHS clients

Head of Operations Requirements:

  • Must be a registered and qualified Pharmacist as recognised by the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
  • Must have significant experience dealing with clinical governance, quality improvement and risk management; experience and specialist knowledge of specialist therapy areas or a strong understanding of the principles in dealing with clinical specialties and complex drug therapies e.g. oncology, rheumatology, renal medicine, parenteral nutrition; experience working in homecare pharmacy / hospital pharmacy / or another relevant environment.
  • Ability to lead, manage, engage, mentor and coach teams to deliver exceptional patient safety and care. With a track record of leading and implementing change to drive improvement and innovation whilst maintaining a motivated and engaged workforce.
  • Must have a thorough understanding of the legal and regulatory framework governing pharmacy practice in the UK. This includes knowledge of the Medicines Act, the Human Medicines Regulations, and other relevant legislation.
  • Proven ability in process efficiency and managing an operation. Commercially astute; with the ability to translate strategy into operational working plan.
