Female Support Worker
We are looking for a new person to join a team of committed, reliable and motivated individuals to provide support for a young teenager. He lives at home with his family but has his own therapy and lounge area within the house.
He is wheelchair dependent, has use of lots of therapy equipment, uses non-verbal methods to communicate to others and is fed through a gastro tube.
He requires full assistance for personal care and to maintain his safety and wellbeing.
Previous experience working within care is essential, full training and support will be given.
As the client enjoys school in term time, he is at home more in the school holidays and will require someone to be flexible in doing extra hours.
The role will also include medication administration and keeping daily notes.
Hours of work
30/35 hours per work over Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, between the hours of 7.00am & 9.30pm (shifts to be arranged with parents)
Extra hours will be required to cover school holidays, sickness and other support workers annual leave. There is also the possibility of supporting the client on family holidays abroad.
Rates of pay
Weekdays £15.00 per hour
Weekends £16.00 per hour
Bank Holiday £16.00 per hour
Applicants will need their own transport to reach the family home (public not suitable) and must have a full driving licence to drive the clients vehicle.
Due to the nature of the work an enhanced check with the Disclosure and Barring service is required.
