Farm Vet Nurse

As a Farm Vet, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the health of livestock on client farms. You will provide a wide range of veterinary services including routine health checks, vaccinations, diagnostics, and emergency care. Your expertise will help farm owners enhance the productivity and wellbeing of their animals, while promoting best practices in animal health.

Key responsibilities include:

• Conducting on-site health assessments of farm animals
• Diagnosing and treating illnesses, injuries, and infections
• Administering vaccinations and preventative treatments
• Advising farm owners on herd management and biosecurity
• Performing surgeries and other veterinary procedures as necessary
• Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care
• Offering guidance and support to farm staff in animal welfare practices

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A veterinary degree and registration with the appropriate regulatory body
• Prior experience working with farm animals, preferably in a veterinary capacity
