* Hours per week: Permanent, 38 hours per week
* Shifts: 2x 8am-8pm, 2x office hours & one weekend per month

An amazing opportunity is now available for an experienced Deputy Manager to join Xealthcare’s well respected clients residential care home on a permanent, full-time contract. The care home is located in an easily commutable area within Hitchin.
The small sized care home offers residential, dementia and respite care for elderly residents. Our care provider has been rated ‘GOOD’ following their most recent CQC inspection and they have also developed an excellent reputation in the area for high standards of care.
Position: Deputy Care Manager
As a Deputy Manager, you will be responsible for leading and supervising the care team to ensure the provision of high-quality care and assistance to our clients' residents. In addition to coaching the care staff and team leaders you will support the Registered Care Manager with staff management tasks where necessary and required.
The successful Deputy Care Manager will be required to work two days supernumerary and two days on the floor, leading the care team, administering medication and reviewing care plans. The two days supernumerary will involve updating care plans completing audits, and other tasks to ensure the residents are safe and well cared for.
Key Responsibilities:
* Leading and supervising the team, act as a role model in support of staff to work within the standards, always promoting best practice.
* Work closely with the Home Manager, taking the lead in their absence, for all regulatory and compliance requirements, and necessary notifications to CQC. Assist with reviewing budgets, staff rotas, complaints and relationship building with external regulatory bodies.
* Understanding of standards of care, regulatory frameworks and bodies and relevant legislation.
* Experience of embedding robust and effective care policies, procedures and auditing/quality assurance systems.
Requirements:
* Minimum of NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care required.
* Prior experience in a care home setting or similar role is preferred.
* Compassionate and empathetic nature with a genuine interest in the well-being of elderly individuals.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Strong leadership abilities and the ability to work effectively within a team and independently.
* Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
* Respect for privacy, dignity, and confidentiality.
